Only 14% of respondents said they can always link their efforts on social media to ROI, while only 31.5% knew how well their competitors are performing on social media.

NEW YORK, January 26, 2022 / PRNewswire / – Listen first, the leading enterprise solution for social analytics, today announced the release of the 2022 Social Media Marketing Trends Survey. The results of the comprehensive online survey confirmed that despite the ongoing pandemic, brands are more committed than ever to social media as a marketing channel.

55% of respondents said that their brands consumption on social media increased during the pandemic, with 50.5% of respondents adding that their brands consumption on social media will increase further in 2022.

However, it is still a challenge for many brands to measure the impact of their social media. Only 14% of respondents in the survey said they can always link their efforts on social media to ROI, while only 31.5% answered “Yes” to knowing how well their brand is doing on social media relative to competitors . Meanwhile, 52% of respondents either wanted more influencer analysis or were unsure if they had enough.

“Survey results confirm what we’re known in the market that even though brands are investing more in social media, they just do not have enough data to speak for performance,” he explained.   • Instagram is the most important social media platform for brands, chosen by 40% of marketers and analysts

  • LinkedIn is the most trusted social media platform chosen by 39.5% of respondents

  • Facebook is the least trusted social media platform, chosen by 44.5% of respondents

  • 66% of respondents expect that video on social media will be an increased focus for their brand in 2022
