If you’re having trouble with your AirPods Pro, we’ve got some good news. Apple has just expanded the Repair Program which offers free repairs or replacements for those who experience cracking noise, noise, or noise cancellation issues.
According to the modifications made to the Apple Support Page, marked by MacRumors, Apple will now repair or replace certain AirPods Pro models for up to three years from the date of original purchase, instead of just two years. This program arrived in October after the initial one-year warranty expired, so most homeowners who bought them in 2019 are expected to be covered until October 2022.
That said, it appears that only certain early models may be affected, and not all AirPods Pro purchased after October 2020 are part of this expanded program.
To be specific, Apple’s document says it can fix the following issues with AirPods Pro:
Crackling or static sounds that increase in noisy environments, during exercise, or when talking on the phone.
Active noise cancellation does not work as expected, such as loss of bass sounds or increased background noise, such as street noise or airplanes.
Affected users can return AirPods Pro to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. After a review, if they are eligible for the repair program, you will likely get a free replacement. You can also make an appointment at an Apple Store to launch a new set of Buds.
