Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby met inside the Dancing with the stars rehearsal studio following their COVID-19 diagnosis. Over the past two weeks, Cheryl and Cody have tested positive for COVID-19, causing them to repeat and perform virtually and individually. In doing so, they were allowed to remain in the competition even though they were not physically present for the live shows.
Cheryl was the first to test positive between the dancing duo. A few days before the second live of DWTS season 30, Cheryl has tested positive for COVID-19. Instead of their live performance that week, all four judges based the couple’s ratings on a prerecorded rehearsal before Cheryl’s diagnosis. A few days later, Cody also tested positive. As the duo continued to rehearse via Zoom, their third performance took place practically from inside their detached homes. It was the first time in the series that a couple had performed in this manner.
Now that the dance competition is approaching its fourth week, Cheryl and Cody prepare to return to the ballroom together. Over the weekend, Cheryl took to Instagram to share photos of herself and Cody in the rehearsal studio together after being apart for almost two weeks. In preparation for the upcoming two-part Disney Night on DWTS, Cheryl and Cody posed in their best Disney outfits. Cheryl wore a pair of Minnie Mouse ears while Cody wore a Goofy hat as they prepared for not one but two brand new dances. Cheryl captioned the post, “Reunited and it feels good!“Take a look at the post below:
Fans were thrilled to hear that Cheryl and Cody will be joining the other couples remaining in the ballroom this week, especially in time for Disney Night. Some call them “dream Team“while others admitted how happy this news made them. Professional dancer Daniella Karagach also shared her excitement for their return in the comments section, writing:”YAAASSSSSSSS. “One user noted:”The judges better be fair for once !!!!“After Cheryl and Cody’s virtual dance last week, many felt the judges were too hard on their scores. Even Cody admitted their low scores hurt.
Since Cheryl and Cody have been quarantined at home for almost two weeks, this will only be their second live performance together in the ballroom. On top of that, they have not one but two dances to prepare this week. Monday night’s episode will feature a Disney-themed Heroes Night. Then, on Tuesday night, the couples will take part in performances based on the Disney villains. Hoping Cody and Cheryl can get higher scores now that they’re back in the ballroom together.
