Twitter is improving the way it keeps users up to date on trendy topics in collaboration with The Associated Press (AP) and Reuters.

The partnership with AP and Reuters will allow Twitter to increase the scope and speed at which it provides context for popular conversation topics.

Currently, Twitter explains top trends on a limited scale. This is accomplished by attaching additional information to the trend, such as a Twitter moment, a single tweet, or a written description.

Twitter seeks to strengthen the delivery of this information in a few key ways:

  • Accuracy: This collaboration allows Twitter to provide accurate information when the facts are in dispute.
