Tumblr, like Many other platforms, introduce a new way for users to commercialize their social media offerings. Bloggers on the site will soon be able to choose when to activate paid subscriptions and payment walls for their content.

From now on, The Post + feature is only open to a number of invited U.S. content providers. When it is published throughout the site, bloggers simply have to select the box to limit the visibility of the post. Mail + memberships cost $ 4, 6 or $ 10 per month.

“Post + on first step towards building Tumblr for Gen Z, and what better way to support them than by getting them paid, ”a Tumblr spokesman said; Engadget.

This new order the feature is scheduled to be released more widely in the fall. Tumblr has said it sees the fee as a 5 percent cut when the rest of the money goes directly to bloggers. However, content producers may incur an additional 30 percent cut if they sign in to iOS or Android devices because there is an additional charge for in-app payments.

“Disengaged only for professionals or those with at least 10,000 followers, Tumblr’s Post + pushes the boundaries of money-making content on the Internet, ”according to the platform.
