The Blockchain Accelerator – developed on the IBM Blockchain Platform by the Swedish software house BlueBarricade Blockchain & AI Technology AB – has reached new levels of performance in the global market for high-speed enterprise block chains. Performance tests have been performed with the support of HCL and IBM.
“We are excited to highlight the groundbreaking efforts that are showing a consistent result of 1,400 blockchain events per second at the BlueBarricade blockchain accelerator,” says Mikael Bramstedt, innovator and founder of BlueBarricade Blockchain & AI Technology AB.
The global demands of the large corporate blockchain market are growing. Research and consulting firm Gartner made predictions that blockchain technology will create $ 3.1 trillion in value for the business by 2030. (Source) As the introduction of blockchain in enterprises continues, it will require ever-increasing transaction speeds and the ability to support large ones while ensuring a highly secure environment.
With recent performance testing by BlueBarricade, with the support of HCL and IBM, speed and scalability have now been improved. The tests took place in individual locations with an international test team focusing on performance objectives and functionality, respectively. (See footnote below for technical details.)
“Five weeks of testing was a success relative to the goals set for the project,” says Lars Bäck, founder of BlueBarricade. “Our product is capable of continuously performing 1,400 barrier chain events per second with large tenant and multi-peer installations.”
Not only can this be a breakthrough in technology that is changing events and global data sharing, it is even exceeding BlueBarricade’s previous target of 1,000 events per second.
Utilizing both IBM Z’s native power and security standards, the state-of-the-art Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes container orchestration technology creates a BlueBarricade accelerator to create a secure and scalable blockchain solution for virtually any industry. It greatly reduces complexity because it can be deployed as a Hybrid Cloud service or an on-Prem service.
“Traceability, security, trust and transparency have been the main benefits of using blockchain technology for years,” adds Mikael Bramstedt. “BlueBarricade’s new and pioneering efforts will enable companies to build the next generation of business applications and create the digital economy of the future.”
