It can be frustrating when a free service like Google My Business doesn’t work as expected. And I fully understand that you get a lot of business Company profile in Search and Maps.

The Google My Business team understands this, too.

The support works in the best possible way – especially given how stormy the year it has been in local search.

In this article, you will learn about four Google My Business issues that will be addressed in mid-May / June 2021.

You’ll also find helpful steps to resolve these issues and improve your knowledge.

What happens when you report a problem to GMB?

It can help you know how the Google My Business team prioritizes fixes when they receive an error report.

Typically, Product experts (like you really do) sees the problem in the community and reports it to Google My Business.

Once tagged, the team will work with product managers to determine if the feature is working as intended or not.

They are considering:

  • How many traders is affected?
  • How serious is the matter?
  • Does the fault cause traders and consumers?

The GMB team can initiate short-term workflows to resolve issues on a case-by-case basis until a permanent repair is implemented.

1. The 85% error and logo and cover art will not be updated

This is a great example of how the GMB team prioritizes issues.

In this case, the user will be on the Google My Business Web or mobile device and will see a message stating that the profile has been optimized to 85%. Alongside this message, they will see a request to add a logo and cover image.

The problem is that the merchant has already set the logo and cover image. Confusion arises.

What’s worse, with this error, the logo and cover image don’t show up on the merchant on the cell phone, so they get even more frustrated.

However, if you look at your desktop, you will see that they are actually present.

Repair: Not one – yet. If you experience this on your mobile device, check your desktop. If your logo and cover art are there, you can easily rest and ignore the warning.

Google My Business is aware of this and has identified it as a low priority issue.

Why, you may ask? This must definitely be important!

As you will soon notice, there are more urgent matters at hand. And since this error does not affect the performance of Google My Business, it is just an interface issue.

Timeline: The team is working to fix it by the end of this year.

2. Disappearing listing; It disappears from the GMB control panels

Google My Business is missing from the listCurrent process: In some cases, business listings are mysteriously lost from the Google My Business dashboard. In many cases, we see this as a result of someone deleting the data.

What to do:

  1. Ask all administrators and owners if anyone has deleted (deleted) the data.
  2. Ask again!

It is unlikely that GMB support can recover deleted data. Google suggests creating a new one.

They can find reviews, and you can always ask for support in moving reviews.

3. The fault of Kansas is still here … so far

What to do:

Search for your business name and tap on the screenshot to see your ranking in Kansas.

The easiest way to do this is to simply type your name into Google search and grab a screenshot of your profile, as shown above.

You can also search for your business name and add [independence kansas]. If this affects your business information, you’ll see it in your search. Screenshot here.

Phase 1: Document the list link and information. Then take a screenshot.

Step 2: Contact Google My Business Support and tell them that the fault of Kansas is affecting you and that you need to change the address.

Step 3: If support prompts you to play with a map marker or address, go to the Google My Business community and report the problem.

4. Legal reviews do not appear

Google My Business errors are missing reviews

In some circumstances, merchants see (or should I say they don’t see) customer reviews, even though the reviews are believed to be genuine.

Recently, Google introduced a spam algorithm that examines the accuracy of user reviews.

In most cases, the algorithm works as intended, and reviews that meet certain criteria do not appear publicly.

A user who leaves them can still see them, but they will not appear in the merchant’s company profile on Search and Maps.

What to do:

Document your business information and collect screenshots of reviews that aren’t displayed.

If you have a user profile link, document it as well.

Phase 1: Consider whether the Company Profile was recently suspended / resumed. If so, you should contact support and provide a case ID and return information with your request for reviews to be forwarded.

Step 2: If you have not recently been frozen, please contact support for missing reviews.

Step 3: If support can’t find reviews or give an answer that feels wrong, you can come The Google My Business community and enter your problem with the support case ID.

entry: You may not get the answer you are looking for, but you will get an answer.
