Instagram is developing a new toolkit to help influencers and creators make money on the platform.
The company announced the development of three major new revenue recognition features for content providers: Creator Shops, a subsidiary store, and a “branded content Marketplace”.

Lately Instagram Live broadcast, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri spoke about how the platform is evolving “to help content producers make a living in the long run.”

As part of these plans, Instagram will launch Creator Shops, affiliate sales (i.e., commissions on product sales) and a new “branded product market” to bring together influencers and brands.
These qualities reward financially influencers and creators who increase brand sales through use Instagram shopping features.
Content Provider Commercialization Feature # 1: Creator Stores
During Creator Week – a week dedicated to the growth of content producers with Facebook and Instagram tools – Zuckerberg shared more about Instagram’s Creator Shops.
“[For creators] who want to sell yours products and merchandise, we are going to make it easier to add an existing store or open a new store to your personal Instagram profile, ”Zuckerberg said.
This can be done in two ways:
- Content producers with an existing product The offer can now link their store to both their personal and company profile – available worldwide from today.
- Creators of new stores is able to set up a store through the Instagram app. They simply link their accounts to one of Instagram’s trading partners: Bravado / UMG, Fanjoy, Represent and Spring. However, this feature will be available to all eligible content providers in the U.S. by the end of the year.
Creator Shops aims to make it as easy as possible for users to buy directly from content providers within the app.

Content Provider Revenue Feature # 2: Affiliate Commerce
In addition to Creator Shops, Instagram has also launched a new one affiliate trading program influencers and actors.

This means that content producers earn a commission (the interest rate set by brands) when they generate product sales for a brand in the app – by filling a 3-sided marketplace for social commerce.
The tool also has a sticker that lets users know that their purchase directly supports the author.
During Creator Week forewords, Zuckerberg revealed:Partner tool [will] you can find new products available through Checkout and distribute them to your followers to earn a reward for your purchases, all on Instagram. ”

Content Provider Revenue Feature # 3: Branded Content Marketplace
Finally, Instagram announced plans to help brands respond and find new influencers whose dimension would ideally suit their audience.
Similar to TikTokin Creator Marketplace, this would be Instagram’s first step to enter an influential brand collaboration mode.
“We should be able to help brands find content producers who are uniquely aligned with the work they are trying to do, and vice versa,” Mosseri said. “If we can help with matchmaking, we can help raise dollars for smaller agents who can do an amazing job for brands.”
The exact details of how the shops could be built were not shared, but Zuckerberg said he offered “very favorable terms” to the agents.
With the tools that financially support content producers, it’s clear that Instagram is on the move ecommerce status and committed to helping content producers achieve their goals.
